What I Expect to Learn from Interactive Media I

    In Interactive Media I, taught by Diana Bauman, I will learn how to build a fully functioning website. I expect to know my way around the Adobe programs, Dreamweaver and Fireworks. I will recognize and be able to read HTML and CSS. I will know how to build a website based on the client's needs in the business world.
    What I would like to learn is how to set up a professional website. I have created a couple very simple sites, but didn't have any examples of what they should look like. I have experience using HTML and have made a webpage using it. To write out words and then apply code to them to make them look different, I think, is very simple. But to take the words and arrange them on a webpage looks pretty complex. I have never used CSS and to be honest, never even heard of it.
    Some of my favorite sites, not only for the information provided, but for how it looks include www.lazer1033.com. I like this site because it has a theme to it. I really enjoy rock music and Lazer 1033 is my favorite station. If you were to stumble upon this website, not knowing that it was a rock station's site, you would easily be able to tell just from its looks. It is easily navigable and is updating all the time. It is very interactive in that you can take surveys, vote, and create playlists.
   After searching for the best websites, I found www.neostream.com. I thought this was a cool site because of the use of animation. It wasnt an informational site, it was impressive because of the animation. I would say that this is made this way to show the clients what this person can do with Flash or whatever program they used.
  The site that I would probably create would be very girly and creative. I decorate cakes as my job and some of the cakes that I have done are really neat. I might do something to showcase the cakes that I have done.
   I am really looking forward to building and designing my own website. I have been interested in web page design since high school and have said for a while that this is my future career. After taking this class, I should be able to know if this is what I am truly interested in doing.
